Netherlands - Amsterdam

Regional Travel Advice
- A majority of international flights operate from Amsterdam’s SchipolAirport, where special Security Scans and Body Scans are in place at security and customs respectively. All passengers are required to go through Security Scans and during busy periods, such as holidays and the tourist season, it may take a while to proceed through security and immigration. Passengers departing the Netherlands are advised to arrive at the airport a few hours before their flight leaves to allow plenty of leeway should airport procedures take time.- All individuals aged 14 and over must be able to produce valid identification if requested. Thus, visitors to the Netherlands should carry their passport with them at all times. Be wary of so-called plain-clothes “police officers” asking for identification – they could be scam artists. If in doubt, ask to see identification or offer to go to the police station to validate your identity.
