New York Marathon Route Report

Over 50,000 runners are expected to take part in the New York City Marathon on Sunday November 2nd 2014. As participants race 26.2 miles from Staten Island to Central Park, the following roads will be closed to traffic.

2014 New York Marathon Road Closures

• Verrazano Narrows Bridge
Upper level, Midpoint and exit to 92nd Street will be closed from midnight to 3pm. Lower level will close from 7am to 3pm.

• 4th Avenue and 82nd Street (7:15am – 12:35pm)
• 74th Street before 6th Avenue (7:15am – 12:35pm)
• 4th Avenue and 80th Street (7:15am – 12:35pm)
• Bay Ridge Parkway and 6th Avenue (7:15am – 12:35pm)
• 4th Avenue and 63rd Street (7:25am – 12:50pm)
• 4th Avenue and 43rd Street (7:25am – 1:05pm)
• 4th Avenue and 23rd Street (7:25am – 1:20pm)
• 4th Avenue and 18th Street (7:25am – 1:25pm)

• McGuiness Boulevard, approaching Pulaski Bridge (8:00am – 3:05pm)

• Central Park South – 59th Street from 5th Avenue to Columbus Circle (9:00am – 6:15pm)

How might your service be affected?

As runners race from the start line on Staten Island, through Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx and into Manhattan, widespread traffic disruption is expected. We recommend allowing additional travel time for New York journeys in the affected areas on Sunday.
